植物和昆虫是一对冤家，为了生存，双方斗智斗勇了数亿年。

其中，蕨类植物和昆虫之间共存了超过4亿年，其中的过程更为丰富多彩。

10月28日，发表在国际昆虫学期刊上的研究就揭示了这段传奇战斗中的一幕：蕨类植物能够吸引害虫的天敌来保卫自己。

来自中科院上海辰山植物科学研究中心，湖南师范大学等机构的团队共同完成了这一研究。

他们研究的对象是姬蕨，这是一种在中国南方非常常见的蕨类植物。

鳞翅目夜蛾科的幼虫对这种蕨类植物的生存会产生较大的威胁。

科学家们发现，在姬蕨的周围，通常会出现一种肉食性昆虫-齿缘刺猎蝽，这是一种会捕食鳞翅目夜蛾科幼虫的食肉性昆虫。

通过对姬蕨的植物挥发性成分分析，电生理实验，以及行为学实验研究，人们发现，姬蕨不仅能够在野外吸引齿缘刺猎蝽，还可以进行调节，比如，当姬蕨受到昆虫攻击的时候，它们会释放多种诱导性挥发化合物。

这些化合物会和齿缘刺猎蝽的触角点位信号发生作用，吸引齿缘刺猎蝽前来护卫。

这种呼唤保镖的行为模式极大地增强了蕨类植物的生存概率，可以帮助它们在生存的道路上获得更大的优势。
